January Topbox!

heeello! January really seem to have fly by hasn't it ? The first month of 2013 is already ending!! It's been a pretty good month to start of the year for me, and let's just hope it keeps getting better (:

I want to share with you guys the unraveling of my January Topbox today. For those of you who don't know TopBox, i'm sure you are familiar with Glossybox, or Birchbox...right ? haha well Topbox is the canadian equivalent. Basically, for 10$ ( actually, Topbox JUST had a price raise to $12/month, but it's reasonable because they have been getting better and better brands in their boxes~) a month I will get delivered to me a little "box" filled with 4 deluxe makeup samples ( once in a while you'll get some full sizes too!!). Personally, I love receiving gifts...so i guess you can say this is perfect for me. I just love opening and unwrapping something, the anticipation and curiosity you get trying to figure out what's inside is also something I enjoy!

Here's what the "box" looks like eheh, it's quite different right ? that's what I thought when I first saw it, but actually, it's quite smart and convenient! Okay, so usually... the packaging isn't like this. Let me example, usually, the tube ( it's what I'll call it ) is wrapped in a pretty gift paper, and it'd be different every month. This month however, Topbox sent an email asking if I would like to enter a draw to try a "Privebox". Which ahemm.. after some googling, is a special edition kinda box? haha where the all the content comes from one prestige brand! This month happened to be clinique! 

I quite like clinique, and have tried several of their items before, so I was pretty excited about this box! The four samples I got were :
Clarifying Lotion 3 (combination oily) - Price for Full Size 16$ (200ml)
Rinse off eye makeup solvent - Price for Full Size 25$ (125ml)
Colour Surge Eye Shadow Duo - Price for Full Size 25$ (2.5g)
Repairwear Laser Focus Wrinkle & UV Damage Corrector - Price For Full Size 57$ (30ml)

Overall I was pretty happy with the content. I'm a little iffy about the clarifying lotion because my skin in more on the normal side ): but my T-zone does get a bit oily and clogged so I may just try using it in that area. Makeup remover is always useful, but I already have a full bottle from Korea that I haven't even used yet. I'm always too lazy to use makeup remover since the little amount of makeup I put on, usually comes off when I use my cleanser haha. As for the repairwear laser focus wrinkle& UV damage corrector ( pheww, what a mouth full! ) ..I don't exactly HAVE wrinkles yet LOL but UV damage corrector sounds interesting to me, since I hate putting on sunscreen ( so I usually don't > <) I probably have quite a lot of "damage" to correct haha.

This eyeshadow duo is in such a cute package! The exterior acts like a mirror so that can come in handy! At first when I saw the colors, I wasn't really sure how I felt about them. I don't really like to wear nudes or shades of pink, my taste leans more on the side of metallic  black, grey, silver, etc. However, when I swatched them, I was quite surprised 'bout how shimmery borderline metallic they are. In the pan, you can see the fine gold shimmers, but it's not until you swatch them that they show their glow! The brown colour is more like a shimmery bronze which is DEFS something I would wear!! & the pink is quite nice too with the amount of gold shimmers in it !

All in all, I think this month's box was great ( 2 thumbs up! ). Perhaps I'll do a full review on some of these items in the future! yeah? yeah?
