I noticed I had been doing review related posts lately and well, today's post is also going to be a review! This time around we'll be talking about bb creams just because I'm a bb cream whore that tends to hoard and collect them.
Everybody has their own bb cream preferences for their own skin types, for me I'm a oily-combination skin type and I'll start off by saying these five bb creams; Fairydrops Candy Bar, Holika Holika Petit BB Clearing, Holika Holika Luminous Silk, Lioele Dollish Veil Vita BB and Lioele Triple the Solution, have nothing but praises from me (I will be going through them detailedly one by one).
I have typical asian skin tone (yellow undertones) but I would say I'm on the fairer side. I'm not much of a MAC product fan but I am pretty close to a NC 25.

See my awesome, spike and crystallized piggy bank I have chosen to use as a prop :) |
Lioele Triple the Solution

Has a pump to control the amount of product you want to use. |

Comes in only one shade if I'm not wrong. |
Packaging: 5/5
Coverage: 4.5/5
Texture: 3.5/5
Scent: 4/5
Overall: 4/5
I would say this is one of the top Lioele bb creams and also one of my favourites because of the strong coverage, the coverage is so good I can proudly say this can be used as a freakin' concealer (like no joke) sometimes working even better than some concealers. The packaging is also super cute and simply convenient; with the pump you can control how much product you want to use! However, my the only down point for this bb cream is the fact that it's quite thick. It tends to feel a little heavy when putted on and tends to make one oil up a bit throughout the day. The scent is kind of a soapy sort of smell...I don't really know how to describe it any other way; it's just strong enough for one to be bothered. Other pros would be some amazing SPF coverage of 30 PA++, whitening and has wrinkle care (I honestly don't know how these components work, but as far as I know for whitening it doesn't actually whiten you, it only has a sort of fair cast where it makes you look like you have a fairer skin tone). I have also used Beyond the Solution before and in my opinion, this gives off a more healthier glow...that's why I am on my second bottle of this product already (this stuff lasts forever, one bottle lasted me 10-11 months and I use this together with my mom).
Lioele Dollish Veil Vita BB (Green)

Also a pump, bravo Lioele for considering the convenience of the consumers. |

Like magic it changes from a pale green into one's skin tone! |
Packaging: 5/5
Coverage: 4/5
Texture: 5/5
Scent: 4/5
Overall: 5/5
This product comes in purple and green; purple for uneven skin tones and the green for redness. Initially I wasn't a fan of this bb cream because I didn't like how if I use a bit more product than usual the white cast seems to look ghostly...but I have found a solution and this product has just become love. The reason is, the redness is rather prominent for me during the mornings so with this bb cream, it solves those problems for me. All I have to do is apply a thin layer of this and then apply a different shade of bb cream that matches my skin tone more on top and I'm set. To put it simply this bb cream can pretty much be used as a 'base'. The texture is light and it blends really well into my complexion, the scent again is sort of soapy but doesn't bother me. I would say I'm liking this over Triple the Solution but theses two products have different functions so it almost seems unfair to pit them against each other. Although the lightweight of this product makes it more wearable. It also has a SPF of 25 PA++.

The Holika Holika products. |
Holika Holika Luminous Silk (Shade 02)
![]() |
Has a nice yellow undertone that blends pretty well with my skin tone. |
Packaging: 5/5
Coverage: 3/5
Texture: 4.5/5
Scent: 3.5/5
Overall: 4/5
First of all the packaging is crazy pretty (if that is even possible) as the material of the packaging is made out of this 'silk' fabric which makes the product look really sophisticated. As for the product I would not say it's genius but it does have it's charming points; although the product appears thick the consistency become more smooth when it's applied and it glides and blends really well with my skin. It also is quite matte but still provides a healthy glow. The coverage is not wonderful, but the light formula makes up for it. It has an SPF of 42 PA++ and has other pros of UV protection, anti-wrinkle and whitening.
Holika Holika Petit BB Clearing

I will have a tell all of how inconvenient this is. |
Packaging: 2/5
Coverage: 4/5
Texture: 3/5
Scent: 5/5
Overall: 3.5/5
Although aesthetically speaking this doesn't really have a high rating, but I must say I like it on days when I have freaking hormonal explosions on my face. It keeps my face from becoming excessively oily for a very long period of time and when I take it off, the condition of my skin does not worsen ( I would like to praise it and say it seems as if sometimes it gets better, but it might be my imagination so I'm only saying it on the side to give an idea of a possibility since I don't have solid proof). The packaging is flimsy, not very appealing with it's cheap plastic and poor design but I don't see what more I can ask for from a five-six dollar bottle of reliable bb cream. The texture I must say I am not a fan off because it seems as thick or even thicker than the Lioele Triple Solution and it only comes in one shade...which by the way is so pale (if earlier I had said how the Dollish Veil Vita makes me look ghostly...than this would take it to a whole new geisha level). This product is usable, just apply as minimal as possible. As for the scent I think it smells rather soothing so I actually like it. The Petit BB also carries four other different products in the line according to different types of skin. This one I am using: clearing, is for troubled skin, with elements of tea tree oil in it, it also has the SPF of 30 PA++.
Fairydrops Candy Bar (Light Ochre 01)

It comes with a sponge applicator that becomes very gross through time... |
Packaging: 3.5/5
Coverage: 4/5
Texture: 5/5
Scent: 5/5
Overall: 4/5
I had thought this product's packaging was witty at first...Now I just think it's stupid because not only does the applicator get gross but it's honestly not very sanitary however way you look at it. Even when you don't use the applicator and just squeeze the product out, the sponge will still get dirty, not to mention also wastes product as it soaks into the sponge. However this problem can be solved if you just unscrew the whole cap/sponge area and squeeze it out (anything is better than the product going through that stupid applicator). On another note I love this bb cream because it's great for photos (for once no SPF)! The colour of the product matches almost perfectly with my skin tone (I bought the lightest, there is only two shades) which is great news for me because Korean bb creams tend to always look so ghostly. I'm actually rather annoyed that they rarely make darker shades for others who have darker skin tones, it's like they limited it to only cater towards people with lighter skin tones and I don't think it's fair. BB cream should be shared! Although there isn't a large colour range to choose from, Fairydrops does give the option of a darker tone. This product doesn't really have much of a scent and the texture is smooth and watery enough that it glides nicely onto the skin! The only problem with this product is that it's way too overpriced, costing forty bucks each (which is crazy considering people that don't live in Japan need to pay shipping fee too). It makes me iffy to repurchase this product but...In my opinion, it's good enough to be repurchased.

This is a chart of the swatches of bb cream. |
Shade from lightest to darkest: HH Petit BB Clearing > Lioele Dollish VV BB > HH Luminous Silk > Lioele Triple the Solution > Fairydrops
Overall, all of these bb creams are quite affordable (except for Fairydrops) and can be ordered on sites like PrettyandCute (no I do not promote for them), Keautystore (located in Vancouver; I also do not promote for them) or Sasa.
I hope it was helpful in your decisions on which bb cream to buy next.
